Hybrid School

the hybrid option

A hybrid model of education is where students go to school a few days a week and learn at home a few days a week.  Our school provides the majority of the teaching and curriculum, with 3 full days of teaching.  Parents are still the ones primarily responsible for their children’s education and they must follow homeschool law.

who we serve

Each campus for the 2026-2027 school year will serve a different age group. Church at the Heights - Preschool through 8th Grade. Burry’s Church - Preschool through High School. Harmony Baptist Church - Kindergarten through 5th Grade (with intentions of adding grades).

schedule

Students attend school with us every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for three 10-week sessions plus a 3-week Christmas School.  Parents can drop off their children anytime from 8:30-9:00am, the school day with core curriculum will go from 9:00am-2:00pm with an hour for lunch and recess, and then children can either get picked up or join our co-op extracurricular classes from 2:00-4:00pm.

what makes us different

Students take part in a unique learning environment at Roots, very different from ones you would see at a public, private, or other hybrid school.  We believe in individualized learning, which we ensure through evaluations to place children correctly in each subject, small class sizes, and constant communication with parents.  We also believe in fun, hands-on learning with games and activities throughout the day, and allowing our kids plenty of outdoor time.  We incorporate Christian principals and teachings throughout our curriculum, and ensure our students are learning good values and morals.  Lastly, we provide all curriculum and supplies, so the price you see is the price you pay for your child’s education with us.

parent expectation

We expect parents to be very involved in their child’s education.  Parents will be responsible for 1-2 days of curriculum work at home each week.  There will be one math and reading lesson required, helping complete any unfinished work, making sure students understand what they have been taught, and projects or assignments for science and social studies.  We require our parents to volunteer at least 5 hours per child per session, which can take place through classroom help, cleaning, working events/fundraiser, or other means agreed upon.  Lastly, we expect parents to attend and invite others to our fundraisers, as that is how we can keep our costs so low.
