Preschool vs. PreKindergarten

Tuesdays-Thursdays, 9:00-11:30am

Tuition - $175/month

Preschool at Roots is offered at two of our campuses: Church at the Heights & St. John’s Burry’s Church.

This program is geared for students to begin learning basic social skills, following directions, working with others, and some introductory math, reading, and writing skills.

Students will work directly with teachers, in small groups, and independently to practice skills and learn new material.

Learning is facilitated in a play-based, hands-on, fun way through a Montessori style classroom.

While there is no age requirement with any of our programs, the preschool program is geared for students who are 2.5-3 years old at the start of the school year.

These students will not focus directly on Kindergarten readiness and should plan to take another year of Preschool or PreKindergarten after their year in this program.

PreKindergarten is offered at all 3 campuses at Roots: Church at the Heights, Harmony Baptist, and St. John’s Burry’s.

This program is geared for students to learn skills to prepare them for entering Kindergarten the following year. They will learn number and letter recognition, basic phonetics and blends, beginning number sense, and confidence writing their name.

Students will work directly with teachers, in small groups, and independently to practice skills and learn new material.

Learning is facilitated in a play-based, hands-on way with Montessori curriculum.

While there is no age requirement for any of our programs, the PreKindergarten program is geared for students who are 4-5 years old at the start of the school year.

If you decide to enroll your child in this program, an evaluation will be completed in May to ensure correct placement and potential for completing some Kindergarten curriculum.
